Hi All

Here are some tidbits for you. I have been seeing the doctor about a couple of things lately, so here is an update.

About a year and half ago I noticed a small lump on my chest right on my sternum about the size of a walnut. At the time my doctor said not to worry about it as it may just be fat deposit (go figure). Ok, so I left it alone and kept watching it grow until now.

Now 2 weeks ago while shaving one morning, I feel a lump on the side of my throat about the size of a peanut. I showed the wife and she said “Wow! Where did that come from?” A few days later it is the size of a small egg. So here we go again to the doctor. He is not sure what it is and orders an Ultrasound for my neck and chest x-ray. The x-ray shows nothing unusual and blood work is normal. Next comes the ultrasound. The radiologist comes in and looks at the screen and mutters quietly “Oh My!” He immediately recommends that I get a CT scan of my neck to see what this “Large Mass” on my neck is. And while we are at it get CT scan of chest also to check out that lump.

So, by now, I’m nervous and scared. I have 2 appointments next week because you can’t scan both neck and chest at the same time. I have never had a CT scan before. Are they bad or scary?

This post is to keep family and friends informed. I hope and pray that lump is just lymph node or some blockage of some kind because I’m too scared to even type, let alone say, the bad word that starts with “C”.
