WHOSE BABY IS THIS????

OH MY WORD! That cute little Baby Bug of ours turned into the NASTIEST little kid tonight! We had the first of two birthday parties for him tonight at Huntington House, where Grandma and Grandpa Holberg live, and nowhere in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that my beautiful brown-eyed little angel could have turned into a Double Fisted, Blue Armed, Blue lipped Cake eater!

We had a perfectly innocent looking Winnie the Pooh and Piglet cake for him, and I gave him a piece of cake to enjoy… and BOY DID HE EVER! He took a couple of tentative little pokes at it, and when he wasn’t stopped, he dug in with both hands and just let ‘er rip! All the different colors of frosting that were on that cake blended into a lovely shade of blue, that made it look much like he had been playing in a Port-A-Potty! Complete with little clumps of icky stuck to his face and hands! I was absolutely positive that he’d be blue around the mouth and hands for days to come… but miraculously, he washed up pretty easy with some Joy Dishwashing liquid! Oh what an icky kid he was! I can’t wait for him to see these movies and pictures one day ! CLICK HERE TO SEE THEM!!!

We will be going to Grandma Bunt’s house, in North Dakota, for the 4th of July , and we’ll have another party for the relatives out there, so THEY can see him eat cake… It was the funniest thing I’ve ever watched! His big Brother Ben would NOT get dirty eating cake for his first birthday. I don’t think Ben’s face and hands have been that dirty in his ENTIRE life! And I’m thinking you might have to combine all the times he’s ever been dirty to get as dirty as Andrew was this evening! He was so cute!

June 16, 2003

Andrew was born at 8:01 a.m. on June 16, 2003. He came into the world screaming and peeing all over the place. I guess that means he came out pissin’ and moanin’ right from the get go! SHEESH! He was born 6 days early, via a C-section, at St. Joseph’s hospital in Marshfield, WI. Doctor Cheryl Conetsco was the doctor that took care of him and his mom while she was carrying him, and she was the doctor that did the surgery.

Andy’s Mom and Dad are Julie and Allan Bunt, and his big brother is Benjamin. Andy was born with a TON of curly brown hair, and big dark eyes… and we all fell in love with him immediately. He weighed in at a hefty 9 lbs, 15 ounces, and was 21 ½ inches long. What a big boy!

Apparently, Andy was just as bloated up with water as his Mommy was, because he lost a LOT of weight in the hospital. He went down to about 8 lbs 12 ounces, and I was worried that they were going to keep him in the hospital longer, to try to get him gaining weight.

We came home from the hospital on Friday, June 20, right after Andy had his first serious medical procedure. (Circumcision) The nurses at the hospital didn’t tell me that he probably wouldn’t eat much at all that day, and that the Tylenol they gave him would most likely make him really sleepy for the day. The last I had heard from anyone was at 6 in the morning, when they told me to try to nurse him as much as possible, as he had lost another couple of ounces over night, and they were starting to get really worried about the weight loss. So, here we are at home, and I can’t get him to wake up to eat, and it’s getting later and later in the day, and I was bawling hysterically, and it was just a bad thing all the way around.

Andy and his big brother Ben were baptized together, on June 29, 2003, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Ben was also confirmed that day, and Mom and Dad became members of that church that day. It was a really big day for the whole family!

Andy’s favorite thing to do in the whole wide world is to sleep on Mom or Dad’s chest while they sit in the recliner. Luckily, that is also Mom and Dad’s favorite thing to do in the whole world too, so it works out just dandy. Of course, this means that the house doesn’t get cleaned as much as it should, and things kind of pile up a bit, until Mom gets cranky and just does it, but at this point, I don’t really care. Babies are only tiny for a little while, and we are going to cherish every second of him being this small. He’s gonna turn into a moody, opinionated teenager soon enough. Gotta love him while we still can!

At just under 8 weeks, Andy hasn’t had many experiences to report in a “bio”… but he has gone to Iowa with his Mom, Ben, Grandma Holberg, and Great Aunty Omie for a family reunion in Manchester, IA. It’s a reunion for the descendants of the Maurer and Yeldon Families on Grandma Holberg’s side of the family. He has been to a bon fire, at Uncle Joe and Aunt Cheryl’s house on the 4th of July. He didn’t like the fire crackers at ALL!

Andy has two cats at his house. Their names are Tigger and Speedy. Tigger tolerates his presence, and pretty much ignores him, but Speedy really loves him. Especially when either Mom or Dad is holding Andy in the recliner, and Speedy loves to jump up in the chair, and curl up right with Andy. It’s really, REALLY hot right now, being summer, but this winter… oh man, that’s gonna be AWESOME! Andy also has a Puppy at his house. Her name is Roxie, and she’s a cocker spaniel. Mom gets mad at Roxie when she chews up Andrew’s stuff when they are all gone. She does that pretty regularly. But it seems to be getting better. The last time they were all gone for a couple of hours, Roxie didn’t chew anything up that they could find. That’s a good sign.

I think that’s about it. Andy will be having his first camp out this weekend, at the Coon/ Holberg family reunion, held the weekend of August 8, 9, and 10, 2003. It’s gonna be a blast. We’ll fill ya in on the details later.
