The Passion of the Christ

So far, I have not seen the movie yet.
What are your thoughts?

.......One is that he died for US and the other is about how we are suppose to pray for people that have wronged us. It became so clear to me as I watched him take his punishment. Not one time did he beg for his life. Then at the very end when he prayed and said "Forgive them Father, for they don't know any better". That was like a huge lightbulb going off in my head......

Well, at the very least it has people talking... My neighbor (who has been trying to recruit me into the Nazarene Baptist sect since my arrival in Texas) bought me tickets to the show with the implication that I needed to learn something. It's useless to argue that this event is the cornerstone of the Catholic faith. I've been told "all that he has done for you, and you won't go see his movie?", to which I responded "What has Mel Gibson done for me?" I have no desire to see the movie on 2 fronts...one is that I'm familiar with the story and don't want to see the graphic portrayal of it, and the second is that I believe this is Hollywood cashing in on religion. When Mel Gibson turns over a $117M check to the Pope, then I'll beleive that he's done this as an act of faith.
